Default P0406

well a few weekends ago i got an engine code. i saw no performance issues so it wasn't a to the top of the list thing.

Yesterday i checked the code its P0406 (EGR Sensor High Voltage). What i dont remember and i didn't look up in my ginormous book of auto repair if that indicates a back EGR valve or if it indicates bad wiring.

Anyone else get this code?

do i have to replace the whole EGR or do i have a problem with the wiring.

Things that have changed right before the engine code:
I took off my trufiber hood. as some of you know the hood would rub against the EGR connector harness. after the hood swap is when i got the code. i'm gonna try just disconnecting and reconnecting it maybe its just a bad connection.

Would a bad connection cause a HIGH VOLTAGE? Reasoning it out i would thing it would give me a LOW VOLTAGE.

Any ideas?

Im suprised someone here hasent told you you need a custom tune to fix this...
could be a bad connection.. if you cycled the key with the dpegr disconnected it will store that code, the voltage is high with it disconnected, or any wire shorted to power.. if all else fails then could be a bad sensor...
